Irie, Man! Mixed media on 12×12 inch canvas (sold).

“Irie, Man” started out as an attempt at abstract art. As with most of my attempts at abstract, I didn’t like the painting so it was relegated to the “try again” pile until one day, I saw his face in the paint and set about drawing him out. So as is also usually the case with my attempts at abstract, I needed to add something specific and recognisable for the piece to work for me.
